Tomorrow, Wednesday 30th May is Canaries Day, and Promotur will be using Facebook as a launchpad to showcase the islands’ landscapes to over three million Europeans, specifically in mainland Spain, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Sweden, Norway and Poland, all of which the Canary Islands brand has a presence in on its social media site.

This single day campaign, whose aim is to encourage potential tourists from these markets to feel a part of Canaries Day celebrations, will be using the attractive Canvas advertising format aimed at mobile users, who are plunged into an fully encompassing experience, as they will be able to interact with panoramic photos they can move around in, plus view seven mini videos, covering each of the islands.

This interactive format takes the form of a micro-site, and is not yet widely used by different brands. It is loaded instantly and gets its message across to its receivers in a quite remarkable fashion.

This latest promotional campaign is 85% co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, and is part of a string of campaigns put together by Turismo de Canarias under its publicity banner entitled “We are unique” aimed at Canaries Day celebrations. The first of these campaigns was launched yesterday, Monday 28th May, and will run until 1st June, aimed on this occasion at a local audience, to unite the talent of Canary users of Instagram to help in the tourist promotion of the islands via a photographic contest.
