The arrival of summer is a great reason to highlight the differentiating aspects of the Canary Island brand, as everything that is good about the summer can be enjoyed here throughout the year. With this in mind, Promotur Turismo de Canarias have put together a video that they are sharing today, on 21st June, on the brand’s social media sites, in which they welcome in the summer with a positive message to remind thousands of Europeans that there is no winter to be had on the islands.
The video short has been placed on Facebook and Instagram, in five different languages and to eight inbound markets, namely Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and Holland. To coincide with social media users welcoming in the new season, Islas Canarias does so in a different way, with a message that can only be transmitted from a place with the finest climate in the world.
The video features beaches, clear skies, people enjoying outdoor pursuits and sports in the wind and waves, looking totally chilled out and in proper holiday mode, reflecting how the islands offer more sunshine hours all year round, while providing more time to discover, feel, lose themselves, dream, or simply do nothing at all.
The communication strategy of Islas Canarias puts a special emphasis on messages that set the brand apart from competing holiday destinations, such as the all year round fine climate. This campaign has been 85 % co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, and is aimed at all those inbound markets that seek sun and beach breaks, serving as a reminder to keep the seven holiday islands in clients’ mind’s eye, while at the same time transmitting other added values such as a place for revitalization and fun.
