Canary Islands listed for the first time among world’s 10 best places to work remotely

The two Canarian provincial capitals have been listed among the world’s top 10 destinations for remote working on nomadlist.com, the leading international website for remote workers. For the first time in the history of this prestigious website the two Canary Islands destinations have featured in the top 10. On Monday 30 November Santa Cruz de Tenerife was sixth on the list and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria was seventh.

The famous website for digital nomads compiles a daily ranking of the best places in the world to work remotely, based on their impact and popularity among the remote working community. It ranks aspects like the services available (including health services), quality of the Internet connection, places to work from, friendliness to foreigners, cost of living and quality of life, safety, the weather and equality.


Santa Cruz de Tenerife was in 6th place and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria was in 7th place on the famous list.


The high ranking was achieved after Turismo de Islas Canarias implemented a plan of action to capture the remote working sector. The first initiatives of the Plan have had a significant impact in the media of the target markets for this group of workers.
