Tastes in weddings are changing, and today’s couples, of all ages, are looking for other ways to celebrate being joined in matrimony, going on honeymoons, or simply going for a romantic break. In this context, Promotur Turismo de Canarias is renewing all its promotional material on the islands in order to promote an offer more akin to current trends.

The upgrade on the communication platform idocanaryislands.com is to include new photos, videos and written content which will portray a more modern kind of wedding concept, a far cry from conventionalisms and in which an inspirational side to celebrations plays an important role. The aim is to promote the islands as the perfect place to hold a dream wedding in a unique location, in which natural surroundings play a leading part, together with a fine climate that provides a unique attribute the whole year round. However, it is not just a case of trying to provide a venue for a wedding ceremony, but also to position the Canary Islands at the forefront of the romantic break sector of the market in general, for those couples who wish to have an unforgettable experience in a truly romantic setting.

Stunning settings for wedding celebrations

This new content features videos and pictures of a highly relevant nature, with protagonists who identify closely with the different kinds of modern day relationship models, catering for the motivations of more cutting edge couples while not forgetting traditional ones, while providing a response to their search for amazing natural settings in which to hold their wedding, such as at the beach, under the stars, in a wood or at the heart of volcanic surroundings.

According to a study compiled by Bodas.net, in collaboration with ESADE and Google, the Canaries offer the most competitive price in the country, as the average cost of a wedding on the islands is the lowest in Spain, standing at just 12,473 euros, compared to 20,000 euros in other regions. This factor, together with no seasonal restrictions, as fine weather is to be had on the islands all through the year, plus the fact the wedding can be combined with the honeymoon, make any of the islands a highly attractive alternative for couples.

A relevant aspect to consider is that these tourists spend money on other things apart from their flight and accommodation, meaning other local businesses can also benefit from their custom, such as photographers, florists, organizers of the wedding, music and entertainment.
