The Canary Islands are attending the 2020 Mediterranean Diving Show in Barcelona, the most important diving event in Spain

The Mediterranean Diving Show, the country’s foremost diving fair, is the setting where Turismo de Islas Canarias will be promoting the archipelago’s sea beds this weekend, from 14th to 16th February, in Cornellá (Barcelona). The aim of the event is to highlight the attractions the Canaries offer diving professionals and enthusiasts to enjoy throughout the year, thanks to the islands’ exceptional climate and the temperature of the surrounding ocean waters.

Indeed, the Canary Islands brand has its own specific communication platform, Diving in HD, which highlights the value of the islands’ diving attractions by means of some stunning videos and photographs, together with relevant and high quality content aimed at bringing in tourists who are seeking a unique environment to enjoy their favourite pursuit. In addition, the site offers the opportunity to download an application called «Diving in HD», which features the top 100 diving locations around the archipelago.

This online platform showcases the archipelago as a paradise for divers of all abilities, thanks to the crystal clear waters and the wide variety of species that live in them, the amazing underwater volcanic landscapes, the huge range of diving locations, the many diving schools and related services, and the international underwater photographic competitions… making for a whole range of attractions that make the Canaries renowned for being one of the finest places in the world for diving.

Sustainable, recycled and reusable materials

The stand that the Canary Islands have set up at the Mediterranean Diving Show, 85 % co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), occupies a surface area of 72 square metres. The materials that have been used for the stand’s construction include natural untreated wood, while many of its components are sustainable, recycled and reusable, projecting an image in keeping with an environmentally friendly destination.

Special features at the stand include spectacular images of the islands’ sea beds, thanks especially to the LED screen that will be displaying attractive videos over the three days of the event.
