Three more awards earned for Turismo de Canarias campaigns at the Terres Catalunya Festival

The Canary Islands brand has once again picked up awards at a festival of the tourist advertising industry. On this occasion, two campaigns by Promotur Turismo de Canarias, put together through the agency DEC BBDO, have come away with three new awards at the International Eco & Turism Film Festival Terres Catalunya, an event which has given Canary Islands awards for the second year running.

The Canary Islands brand competed with over 100 candidates from over 18 different countries from Europe, America and Asia, all of whom presented communication campaigns, advertising spots and promotional videos for their respective holiday destination brands -such as Peru and Austria-, highlighting their facilities, services, resorts and tourist experiences, as well as 30 lengthy documentaries.

The festival was held in Tortosa (Tarragona) from 2nd to 5th May, and is the only of its kind in Spain that belongs to the International Committee for Tourist Film Festivals (CIFFT in Spanish), and endorsed by the World Tourism Organization (WTO), the European Travel Commission (ETC), the Central American Tourism Organization (CATA) and the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO).

At this year’s event, the jury chose #NotWinter Games as “Best Communication Campaign” and “Best Campaign for Outdoor Activities and Sports”, and also 7 destinations that shine all year round (The Power of the Destination) as “Best Spanish Tourist Film (B To B)”. #NotWinter Games is a series of campaigns carried out in February, coinciding with the Winter Olympics held in Korea, whose purpose was to promote the excellent climate in the Canaries, its most valuable attribute. “7 destinations that shine all year round”, meanwhile, is an audiovisual production that presents the destination in a highly original and attractive way to the professional sector.
